Distribution: Brazil: State of Pará, Belém, State of Rondônia, Madeira basin; Peru: Ucayali drainage. Type locality: Belém, Pará, Brasil-Norte.
Size: 3.5cm. (1½ins)
Temp: 24-28°c (71-83°f.)
p.H. 6.0-7.5.

Otocinclus is a genus of armored catfish native to South America which are commonly called “dwarf suckers” or “otos”.

O. hoppei has a small caudal spot which does not run into the caudal fin and has only one crossbar to this pattern
