Anubias barteri

Anubias barteri is a hardy west african species of Anubias with lush green arrow shaped foliage. This rosette plant may reach up to 16 inches in width and has thick, creeping rhizomes. This variety of Anubias barteri is an amphibious form that will survive either totally or partially submersed.

Propagation is accomplished by stolon or side shoot division. The stolon  must always be above the substrate to survive, otherwise it will rot and the plant dies. It is also possible to propagate Anubias by seed though in emersed form.

Because of their durability, Anubias are often the go to plants used in aquariums with African cichlids and goldfishes.
